Sharif Rashid, an Egyptian author, had an interview with the international Mehr News Agency in regards to the Islamic Revolution in Iran and its victory under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (r). He stated: “In reality, the Islamic Revolution implemented divine commands and the Prophet’s (s) sunnah on earth. It was taken from the just government of Imam Ali (a) and answered the oppression that was committed against the Ahl al-Bayt (a).

Sharif Rashid, who has written multiple books about the Islamic Revolution, said: “The Islamic Revolution gives comfort to the weak and deprived people of the world. It is an answer to the believer’s desire of justice and freedom.”

This Egyptian author continued to say: “Maybe the people of the world will remember the lessons of the Islamic Revolution. The first lesson is that rights cannot be disregarded and the next lesson is that there is nothing that can be done other than selflessness in order to achieve the rights of others no matter if one looses his life in this regard, just as Iranian believers lost their lives in front of the bullets of the Shah’s army. The third lesson is the presence of a wise leader. All of these lessons can be seen in their most perfect forms in the personality of Imam Khomeini (r).”

Praising the sentence of Imam Khomeini: “Our blood is not more red than the blood of Imam Hussein,” he said: “One of the reasons that Imam Khomeini was victorious the unprecedented views that he had regarding the concept of walayah al-faqih.”

He added: “The truth of the matter is that the Islamic Revolution was able to create a thinking revolution which was standing up to oppressive regimes and waiting for the coming of Imam Zaman (aj).”
