Islam Times - Is there a possibility of building an international coalition against Iran?

Islam Times - Once again, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in Riyadh to announce that the aim of this Middle East visit, which he started in Saudi Arabia and will include the UAE, is to look for "how to form a global alliance" against Iran.

US President Donald Trump has once again unleashed the Twitter diplomacy, saying it is worth protecting his country for oil tankers from other countries and crossing the Strait of Hormuz, adding that he may charge a fee for this service. Pointing out that his country does not even need to be there, America has just become (by far) the largest energy producer in the world.

As usual, Trump, called on countries, specifically China and Japan to pay because his country protects this strait according to his claim, "China gets 91 percent of its oil from the strait, and Japan gets 62 percent of its oil from the Straits," he said. "Like many other countries, Why do we protect shipping corridors in other countries (many years ago) for compensation without charge?"

The Secretary of State said after meeting with King Salman at the Peace Palace in Jeddah that he discussed with the Saudi king the escalation of tension in the region and the need to strengthen security in the Strait of Hormuz, and here we have the right to ask, who are those responsible for the militarization of this strait? Is the goal of the announced visit old or modern? What were the obstacles that prevented it? What is the purpose of asking again?

There is no doubt that Washington suffered a major blow after dropping its aircraft that penetrated the Iranian airspace, and therefore today looking for a excuse to pressure Tehran, which refuses to negotiate with Washington after its withdrawal from the nuclear agreement, and to answer the questions raised above, it is worth mentioning the following:
First: the countries visited by Pompeo are in fact naturally involved in the US alliance against Tehran, but the question is whether new countries can be included in this alliance? The answer is simple yes, and no.

Yes, the Sudanese military council can be joined, for example, to this alliance, but can China, Russia or Europe be included? The answer is no, because these countries, while some have strong ties to Iran, do not want others to use the Washington approach, but rather utilize negotiation as is the case with the European Union.

Second: we do not rule out that the experience of this alliance is similar to that of the Saudi alliance in the aggression against Yemen, that is, many countries are formally joining without any measures on the ground. What does Pompeo want then? In fact, what Pompey wants is what Trump himself stated and that is "money." Washington is seeking more profit, so we do not rule out that Saudi Arabia be pushed to protect its vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz to Washington.

Third: European countries, China and Russia will be the biggest loser if the situation worsened in the Persian Gulf, if any such alliance, has been done, it will ruin the atmosphere and raise the oil prices like crazy, and therefore these countries will lose billions.

In fact, Iran has always stressed that it is protecting the ships that pass in the Persian Gulf, and the Iranian ships had already provided a lot of assistance to ships passers-by, whether rescue operations, or even reduce piracy.

Fourth: One of the other objectives of this is the Palestinian issue, where this alliance will include the Israeli entity, of course, and therefore there is an American attempt to show Iran as the enemy today, which makes it easier for Trump to make the deal of the century.

In fact, nowadays most of the US steps are in the Middle East, although it appeared far in an apparent deal of the century, but it is in fact designed to eliminate the Palestinian cause.

Fifth: One of the US objectives of this step is to increase the pressure on Tehran, to drag them to the negotiations, we do not believe that Iran pay such steps any attention, and thus its fate will be the same of the Arab NATO, and the Islamic military alliance, which did not exceed to show any effects in the media screens.

The US secretary of state had repeated his offer to negotiate with Iran "without preconditions" ahead of his trip to Saudi Arabia, but Tehran did not pay much attention to this statement as Trump was still waiting by the phone.

In conclusion, there is no possibility of building an international coalition against Iran. This alliance is already dead. Washington will not succeed in dragging the international parties to it. It will be limited to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, countries that have been pursuing their hostile policies against Iran for some time. But what is their purpose? The answer is that any US move in the region today is aimed at two things: first, getting more money, exercising more of the "milking" policy, and the second is the Israeli entity and the deal of the century.
