US Responsible for Stalemate in JCPOA Talks
US Special Envoy for Iran affairs, Robert Malley and representatives of three European countries (Germany, Britain, and France) and representatives of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council reiterated baseless allegations at a meeting in Riyadh, blaming Iran for "destabilizing activities in the region."

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh tweeted on Friday in response to a statement noted that the US administration was responsible for the current situation as the party who breached UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and that the party that withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran has suffered a lot from this irresponsible behavior of the United States and violation of the JCPOA. Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, emphasized this point during his recent visit to four European countries (France, Germany, Britain and Spain), as well as in talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Ministers Sergei Ryabkov and Ma Zhaoxu, the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister, stressed the need for effective lifting of illegal US sanctions against Iran as a necessity for future negotiations.

US, European Troika devise coordinated scenario to intensify pressure on Iran

The United States, along with the European Troika (the European Commission (EC), the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF)), although ostensibly emphasizing the need to negotiate the revival of the JCPOA, the nature of their actions shows that they have devised a coordinated scenario to intensify pressure on Iran exploiting the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"The US problem with Iran is not just related to the nuclear issue, it goes beyond that," said Emad Abshenas, a political analyst, adding: "They know very well that Iran is not seeking to build nuclear weapons, so they are just making excuses to put pressure on Iran."

Issuing claims and repeating requests beyond safeguard agreement and attempting to impose extravagant demands in situations where the IAEA and its Western members are failing to meet their obligations and duties is the exploitation of the IAEA for political purposes.

It is clear that with the international smear campaign atmosphere and making imaginary ambiguities in the cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, it is not possible to cover up the distrust created towards the United States after the violation of the JCPOA and to follow the path of the JCPOA unilaterally. It will not help return the lost trust, and it is unreasonable to force Iran to fulfill its obligations unilaterally in the JCPOA without the other side fulfills its obligations.

Iran MFA spox criticizes US double standards

The repetition of baseless claims and extra-legal demands of the United States and Europe from Iran confirms the belief that a coordinated policy is being pursued to influence the atmosphere of the Vienna talks.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman's criticism of the US double standards refers to this point.

Khatibzadeh said that countries that should be held accountable for their adventures and aggression in the region, including the seven-year invasion of Yemen, could not make baseless accusations against others and deny themselves of responsibility for these crimes and divert the public opinions.

The United States, as the only country with a history of using nuclear weapons, with a black record of interfering in the internal affairs of various countries and the main seller of weapons and ammunition to different parts of the world, is trying to create a crisis and smear campaign against Iran.

Undoubtedly, such behavior will not only have no effect on Iran's intention to protect and defend its legitimate interests and rights but will also increase the complexity of the current situation.
