Bush, Obama policies cause US to lose influence: Ex-Treasury official
Dr. Roberts, who was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration and associate editor of the Wall Street Journal, made the remarks while commenting on a statement by Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

Bush said on Sunday the United States is losing influence around the world because of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Putin is organized to challenge the United States across the world now. He views his success by pushing us back. We’re losing influence around the world and Putin is gaining influence,” Bush said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” program.

“Jeb Bush is correct that the United States is losing influence, but it’s not so much due to the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, as it is to the policies of the United States, particularly those of Jeb Bush’s brother, the previous president, George W. Bush -- the policies that were continued by the current president, Obama,” Dr. Roberts said.

“These policies are what is hurting the United States and causing the United States to lose influence, because in the 21st century these two presidents have destroyed seven countries, murdered and displaced millions of people, a large number of whom are now refugees to Europe overrunning the European countries,” he added.

“The result is that Washington’s NATO vassal states are realizing that it’s very expensive to support American policies. So the reason that the United States is losing influence is because of the behavior of the United States government,” stated the author of How America was Lost. From 9/11 to the Police/Warfare State.
