Sanders talks tough on Wall Street but will still endorse Clinton: Writer

The author of Occupy This Book and Occupy These Photos made the remarks after Sanders – a self-proclaimed socialist -- accused Clinton of not standing up to Wall Street.
 
"Do I think Hillary Clinton or many other senators have shown the courage that is necessary to stand up the Wall Street power? The answer is no," Sanders said on Wednesday on MSNBC in a response to a question about whether Democratic frontrunner Clinton had provided cover for Wall Street.
 
"We need a president who now has the courage to stand up to the billionaire class and Wall Street," said Sanders, who is seeking the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
 
Mickey Z. said “any rational person who’s not embedded within the proverbial 1 percent, would agree. But it’s too bad MSNBC didn’t follow-up by asking Bernie about a promise he made in May 2015. Sanders was asked: ‘If you lose in this nomination fight, will you support the Democratic nominee?’ He replied: ‘Yes. I have in the past.’”
 
“And who will be that Democratic nominee seeking his endorsement and seeking the voters who are currently feeling the Bern? Yep, none other than the very same candidate Sanders says does not have the courage to do what needs to be done: Hillary Clinton,” he added.
 
“While this may appear paradoxical, it all fits comfortably under the banner of ‘business as usual.’ Every four years, the Democratic Party appeases segments of the Left by sending out a ‘people’s’ candidate to co-opt their activist energies. From Jesse Jackson to Jerry Brown to Al Sharpton to Howard Dean to Dennis Kucinich to many, many more; unbiased observers already know how this game ends - and the house never loses,” the analyst pointed out.
 
“Does Bernie Sanders believe in the platform on which he’s campaigning? If he truly does, why is he running as a Democrat? If he wanted anything even approaching a ‘revolution,’ Bernie wouldn’t be diverting the meager resources of the meager Left right back into the same system he claims to be railing against,” Mickey Z. concluded.
