Riyadh misusing Interpol, must be expelled after Khashoggi’s murder

10 Dec 2018 12:47

Islam Times - A political analyst says the Riyadh regime has been using the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to track dissidents abroad, urging the police body to expel Saudi Arabia over the role of its top-ranking officials in the assassination of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey.

International lawyer Barry Grossman said “Saudi Arabia is a member of Interpol and regularly uses the Interpol red notice system to request finding the location of people wanted for prosecution in Saudi Arabia and to press for their extradition back to Saudi Arabia to face charges.”

The analyst further urged Turkey -- another Interpol member which is probing Khashoggi’s murder at Riyadh’s consulate in Istanbul – “to use the procedure available through Interpol to have red notices issued against all defendants, including MbS (Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman) himself and then lobby Interpol…to expel Saudi Arabia.”
