Israel vows to seek 'Jewish state' status

Islam Times reports from Ha'aretz: In a Saturday address to the 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei insisted that “our declaration is the freedom of the entire Palestine not the freedom of parts of Palestine.”

The Leader emphasized that the two-state proposal in Palestine amounted to succumbing to the demands of the Israeli regime, which has been engaged in trampling over the rights of the Palestinian nation, overlooking the historical rights of Palestinian refugees, and even threatening the rights of the Palestinians living in the occupied territories.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that any plan must be based on the principle of “All of Palestine for all Palestinians.”

Following Ayatollah Khamenei's speech, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasted that the Tel Aviv regime would enhance its “demand” to be recognized as a “Jewish state”.

Netanyahu also claimed that Tel Aviv would continue to ensure the security of Israelis for “generations to come.”

Acting Palestinian Authority (PA) chief Mahmoud Abbas officially submitted his bid for UN recognition of a Palestinian state to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Sept. 23.

More than 100 countries have so far officially recognized Palestine as a sovereign state based on the pre-1967 borders, the boundaries that existed before Israel captured and annexed East al-Quds (Jerusalem), the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
