Saudi Foreign Minister threatens with more sanctions on Syria
Al-Faisal continued: "There is a crisis in relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia, and Syria's relations with most Arab countries is in crisis now because of Syria’s accusations that Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries seek to internationalize the Syrian crisis because the Arab League and the initiative was established to resolve the crisis in Syria, to end the killings and violence."

"The Arab initiative is trying to establish a framework to resolve the interests of the Syrian people and government, a solution that will prevent the risk of internationalization and the possibilities of civil war and division," adding, "Our solution to the Arab world is against any international intervention in the internal situation of Syria."

He did not hesitate to add that: "Turkey is playing a role, while Iran is interfering in the affairs of the region."

And al-Faisal said, "There will be real fears of international intervention in the crisis if the Arab solution fails due to Syria’s rejection.” And so he believes this is why they should increase the Arab pressure on the Syrian government to get Syria to accept the solution put forward by the Arab League.

Observers believe that the Arabs want to take advantage of the tension that occurred in the Turkish-Iranian relations recently because of the large difference in the way these two non-Arab countries are dealing with the Syrian crisis.

It seems clear that Riyadh is not satisfied with the basis of the relationship between Iran with Syria, because Saudi Arabia senses that Tehran is seeking, through this relationship, to extend its influence in the Arab world, after it became clear that it has influence in Lebanon and Palestine as well.

The Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem accused some "Arab parties" with seeking to use the Arab League as a "tool to internationalize the Syrian crisis and transfer it to the UN Security Council."
