Mubarak needs no treatment: lawyers
“All the indicators show that Mubarak's health is stable and there is no need to appear in court on a stretcher or even stay in a medical center,” one of the victims' lawyers, Muhammad Abdel Wahab said.

This comes amid conflicting reports on Mubarak's health conditions, with some observers being skeptical that what is happening is just a game played by Mubarak and his supporters, which many believe is the Supreme Council of Armed Forces.

“I don't believe personally that such diseases would hinder, stop and prevent the former president from being in the court house, standing on his feet,” Yehia Ghanem of Al-Ahram Newspaper said.

It is “an attempt by the defense team to draw some sympathy from the public to the former president,” he added.

Mubarak's hospitalization in the luxurious International Medical Center has provoked outrage among many of the victims who lost their jobs for injuries sustained during the revolution for which they cannot afford any treatment.

“Is it fair? Mubarak is hospitalized in a five-star hospital and I can't go to work anymore and can't even spend money on my treatment?” said an Egyptian victim and protester.

Mubarak faces charges of corruption, abuse of power and involvement in the death of more than 800 protesters that led to his ouster in February 2011.
