The reforms are insufficient and the Bahraini revolution is not dead
The newspaper said that despite the heave security procedures and the emergency situation prevailing in the country, the Bahrainis insisted on going into the streets to clearly indicate that the revolution is still ongoing and that the reforms announced by the Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa are not enough. Despite the police attempts to prevent the demonstrators from reaching the Pearl Roundabout, the angry crowd insisted on reaching it.

The paper clarified that there were confrontations between the Bahraini authorities and the demonstrators at the Pearl Roundabout in Manama. The demonstrators paralyzed traffic and that there are checkpoints all over the country through which the Bahrainis are being harassed by the regime.

The paper added that the Shiite uprising again in Bahrain is a challenge for the ruling Sunni elite which are supported by the West since they harbor the headquarters of the Fifth U.S. fleet.

It was also added that the speech made by the King on the anniversary, in which he spoke of reform and development, did not convince the opposition, and his talks of pardoning the 291 detainees did not appeal to the young demonstrators who demanded the release of the 14 opposition political figures that were arrested and court-martialled on charges of incitement to overthrow the government.
