Iran: The response to the Israeli entity will be harsh and painful

He added that any action by the Israeli entity against Iran will accelerate the final stages of Israel’s collapse and Iran will surely strike back.

General Wahidi clarified that the Zionist entity wants to achieve two goals; one is to prevent the Lebanese military from arming and strengthening itself, and the other to disarm the Lebanese resistance.

Wahidi also announced that Iran is prepared to strengthen and develop the Lebanese army and that the Lebanese government has welcomed such a proposition. He added that from an Iranian perspective, strengthening the Lebanese Army is vital, since Syria and Lebanon form the frontline of the conflict with the Zionist entity and it is important that Lebanon has a strong army capable of defending Lebanon from any Israeli attack.

General Wahidi also touched on the issue of defensive cooperation between Iran and Lebanon and said that such a matter has broad aspects that include training, equipment, tactics, and strategies.

He continued on saying that he and his Lebanese counterpart stressed the necessity of non-intervention in Syrian affairs such as the elections and that weakening Syria should not be accepted since it plays a vital role in facing the Israeli entity. They also strongly opposed the attempts of Western, Israeli, and some regional countries to incite civil war in Syria. Both sides agreed that the basic and main mechanism to settle the crisis in Syria is through reform and dialogue between the internal parties, and that the new constitution’s referendum is a positive step towards stabilizing the country.

Iran’s Foreign Minister expressed similar views regarding the Syrian matter and the vitality of increasing cooperation between Lebanon and Iran.
