Egypt (Islam Times) – A security source in Al-Aqsar revealed that Magdi Ahmad, Amr Moussa’s electoral campaign coordinator in Al-Aqsar, had fled with his brother after both were accused of electoral forgery in favor of the governorate candidate.

The Attorney General issued an order for Al-Aqsar Prosecution to refer the accused to the criminal court, but they managed to escape before being caught.

The campaign coordinators of candidates Hazem Abu Ismail and Abdul Moneim Abu Fotouh had filed a complaint against a government employee accusing him of forging 500 mandates in favor of Amr Moussa and that during non-working hours.

Al-Aqsar Prosecution investigation revealed that Magdi’s brother who works as Civil Status Record Secretary collected outdated ID cards that were handed over and delivered them to his brother who in turn gave them to the government employee who is the prime suspect in this case.

The investigations revealed that the forgeries included names of people that have been dead for years and of those that are abroad. The Prosecution ordered the arrest of the Civil Status Record Secretary for at least four days pending investigations and ordered the arrest of Magdi Ahmad.

The Judge also ordered the imprisonment of the government employee accused of the 500 forgeries for at least 15 days pending investigations.
