Gaza Strip exports Palestinian-made clothes for 1st time in five years
Raed Fattouh, a Palestinian coordinator of supplies into Gaza, said a truck transporting 2,000 pieces of mainly wool garments were exported through the Israeli-controlled Kerem Shalom crossing in the south of the Palestinian territory on Monday.

The cargo was heading toward an Israeli seaport en route to the UK, Fattouh said.

Although the besieged Palestinian territory made its first export of clothes in five years, many other businesses in Gaza are still banned by the Tel Aviv regime from exporting goods.

Fattouh added that the exact date for the next shipment of Palestinian-made clothing has not been set.

Israel denies about 1.7 million people in the besieged Palestinian territory their basic rights, including the freedom of movement and the right to decent living, work, health and education.
