Juventus are unlikely to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra once the January transfer market opens for business.

Reports around the peninsula on Sunday claimed the Bianconeri were still fervent on the Malian, and that a loan deal was being designed.

Juve had already been linked with him in the summer, but the move never took flight and the club signed Felipe Melo from Fiorentina instead.

However a Serie A switch is unlikely to evolve as Diarra's agent believes such a move is implausible.

"First of all the player will be involved in the African Cup of Nations in January, and so I think these market rumours are unreliable," Frederic Guerra told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"His priority is to play regularly for Real Madrid.

"He will also be playing for his national team very soon. In addition, what major club would be willing to land a player who will not be available for very long?"
