Probe to continue to determine Sadr fate: Libya UN envoy
“Only a few of the officials in the Libyan transitional government know of the latest findings about Imam Musa Sadr,” Ibrahim Dabbashi said on Saturday.

He said that a mass grave had been found in the capital, Tripoli, adding that based on obtained information one of the bodies most probably belonged to Imam Musa Sadr.

The Libyan official pointed to the discovery of the cleric’s clothes in the grave and said, “The final report about the discovery of the body of Imam Musa Sadr will be announced after medical examinations and DNA tests are completed.”

Imam Musa Sadr and his two companions were kidnapped in August 1978 during an official visit to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, to meet with officials from the government of former Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi.

The Lebanese Shia cleric, who is of Iranian descent, is widely believed to have been abducted on the orders of former Libyan officials.
