Russia expresses strong support for Annan’s peace plan
During his meeting with the Ambassadors of the Russian Federation, The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, stressed that Russia's policy is independent and is based on international law.

The Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Security Council says Russia supports Kofi Annan’s mission.

The invitation of the General Kofi Annan to Moscow confirmed Russia’s strong political support of his efforts and his peaceful plan to find a diplomatic solution for Syria.

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs is convinced that this plan is the only viable solution platform for Syrian internal problems.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Russia does not take either side in the Syrian conflict. And the only Russia’s interest is to prevent destabilization of the Syrian government, its collapse, and the following degradation of the region.

According to experts, the way, in which the Syria situation will be dealt, would shape the model of the international community respond to the internal conflicts.

The Chairman of the Committee on Iran in the Moscow Chamber of Commerce believes that any external intervention in Syria or any act of aggression would lead to Russia’s reaction in the following manner.

And at the end, if this situation goes out of all permitted limits, in case of a cynical aggression, I assume, we will provide direct help to the people of Syria.

Mr. Safarov believes Russia is not just against any aggression in Syria, but it becomes a question of Russia's national security.

Moreover, the resolution of the situation in Syria can lead to drastic changes in the world geopolitics
