The attendees have denounced the interference of the US in the Egyptian internal affairs as they have also called on President Morsi to take a firmer stance towards the US foreign policy and to bring an end to the backing of the US to the country's military council.

The guest speakers also stressed the necessity of the speedy release of Omar Abdul Rahman as his health is deteriorating. They have also warned of the consequences should anything happen to the blind sheikh. The US has lost a loyal friend in the region in the toppling of ousted president Hosni Mubarak.

Omar Abdul Rahman commonly known as the blind sheikh has been allegedly convicted in 1995 of charges related to terrorism conspiracy. He is serving a life sentence in a prison in North Carolina. After victory in presidential election, Mohamed Morsi promised to work to free Omar Abdul Rahman.

Anti US sentiments have risen here in Egypt as many hope that the Egyptian government under the leadership of President Morsi would take a tougher stance towards the US and its widely criticized foreign policies.
