Iran keen to boost all-out strategic relations with Tunisia: Envoy
“We are ready to work with new Tunisia in all strategic sectors … the Tunisian revolution has created extraordinary and favorable conditions to … support the relations between the two Muslim countries,” Peyman Jebelli said after a news conference with the Tunisian media on Wednesday.

He asserted that the positive atmosphere created following the Tunisian revolution would contribute to the reinforcement of the ties between the two countries.

“I believe that the general atmosphere welcomes the political, economic and cultural rapprochement between Tunisia and its brotherly Muslim country Iran. This proper ground for cooperation is exceptional and we should activate the cooperation process so as to achieve the good and lasting relations that Tunisia and the Islamic Republic deserve,” he said.

During his press conference, the Iranian ambassador also elaborated on the 11th Joint Iran-Tunisia Cooperation Commission held in Tunis last month.

He said that during the commission session, both sides discussed ways to develop relations in different areas to the highest level and signed eight cooperation agreements.

Heading a delegation, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari visited Tunisia last month to attend the 11th joint commission and discuss ways to further expand cooperation between Tunis and Tehran.

The Iranian minister and his delegation signed some memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and cooperation documents in the fields of industry, energy, health, education, trade, science, culture and media.
