Islam Times - Syria UN envoy gets death threats in US

Islam Times - Syria's envoy to the UN Bashar Ja’afari says he and his family have received numerous death threats in the United States.

“There have been several threats of murder against me and various Syrian diplomats from sites that exist in Saudi Arabia and Qatar and the United States,” Ja’afari told UN General Assembly on Friday.

He also lashed out at Saudi and Qatari media for their “immoral” and “unethical” campaigns against him and his family.

“Saudi and Qatari media are no longer satisfied with targeting my country but have targeted me personally and members [of] my family in an immoral way, an unethical way and a shameful way.”

I am “proud to defend the interests of my nation against all conspiracies,” he stressed.

The Syrian diplomat added that he had alerted American officials of the death threats.
