Analysts draw attention to the fact that Canadians don’t get to vote in US elections but that the outcome of US elections effects their lives significantly.

Supporters of Canadian sovereignty say that US presidents and their paymasters take Canada for granted and call on the Canadian government to emulate the examples of states such as Venezuela and Iran which have nationalized oil companies and which refuse to allow the imperialist states to dictate to them.
