Gaza traders suffer Israeli blockade
Gaza’s traders say they encounter number of problems starting with purchasing the goods from abroad, getting them into Gaza via the Rafah Crossing or the Israeli controlled Karm Abu-Salem crossing which might close without previous notice.

the outage of power and the shortage of fuel resulted in adding more expenses on the traders’ end, for they turn to using the power generators operating on fuel, which is the only alternative left in Gaza during the blackouts.

Due to the tough financial conditions Gazans live in, the demand in the markets is considered very low when compared to the supply owing to the weak buying ability of the customers.

The blockade affects the gold traders in a huge way due to the fact that many people tend to sell the gold they own as the last option they have in order to get money to be able to handle the high expenses and the unemployment in Gaza.

Therefore, the supply is large compared to the demand in the market. Also, you can rarely find people buying gold because of the terrible financial situation most of Gazans suffer from.
Gazan’s economic crisis is not only limited to the high average of unemployment since even those who are employed are facing number of problems.
