“Contrary to the US officials’ claims about the takeover of the Middle East, the free people of this region will force the enemies to escape from the region through Jihad and the continuation of the Islamic Awakening movement,” Hassan said on Saturday.

He added that the Syrian government is not in a conflict only with insurgents but with international forces, Wahhabi terrorists and extremist elements from different countries such as Egypt, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen and Saudi Arabia as well as Chechnya.

The Syrian ambassador expressed confidence that under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, Damascus would thwart the plots of the enemies and inflict another defeat on the global arrogance.

He said the recent bloodshed in Syria is in continuation of the enemies’ violence in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Iran, emphasizing that the blood that is being shed would one day serve to cut the hands of the arrogance from the Middle East region.

Many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil that began in Syria in March 2011.
