Pakistan government observes Ishq-e- Rasool (PBUH) day

Islam Times - In the backdrop of protests against the very controversial anti-Islam movie, the government announced a public holiday on Friday to observe Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) day, Geo News reported.


The decision was taken at the Pakistan Federal Cabinet meeting this Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf where officials discussed matters relating to the scandalous movie.

Pakistan Prime Minister condemned the film which ridiculed Islam. It was also decided in the meeting that PM Raja Pervez Ashraf will personally summon the U.S ambassador in order to inform him about Muslims’ concerns over the blasphemous film.

The Prime Minister also appealed to the people of Pakistan calling on them to express their anger peacefully and in keeping with the law of the land as to avoid further spike in violence.

Meanwhile, Pakistan People Party aka the ruling party formally announced It would join Friday’s protest, in denunciation of the film.
