Holding the pictures of the 59-year-old victim, Hassan Abdullah Ali, the protesters chanted anti-regime slogans during the demonstration on Saturday.

Ali died when Bahraini security forces fired tear gas at his home in Sitra on September 18.

The demonstrators also condemned the regime’s use of force against peaceful protests.

Bahraini protesters have been holding anti-regime demonstrations since February 2011 and they hold King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa responsible for the death of demonstrators during the uprising.

The protesters say they will continue holding street protests until their demand for the establishment of a democratically elected government is met.

The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) has stated that the Manama regime has failed to make good on a promise to implement political reforms in the country.
