Pakistan to raise issue of American blasphemous film at UN and OIC

The Prime Minister was addressing a gathering organized in Karachi when he said, “the US and the UN has to declare blasphemy an international crime.”

The Prime Minister also directed Chief Ministers to solicit the good offices of Ulema and Mashaikh and utilize their services to imbue in the people the teachings of Islam and message of peace and harmony given by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He once again appealed to the people of Pakistan to follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). “We Muslims as the followers of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) should follow his Hadith … the Prophet (PBUH) said, “He is not a Muslim if his tongue and hands harm other Muslims”.

Pakistan has witnessed a series of violent protests in answer to the publication on YouTube of a movie which criticizes and mocks Islam and its prophet.

Different political parties and religious groups held protest demonstrations against the film throughout the country.
