Bahrain system arrests medical staff after support of prison sentences
The sources said that the doctors who were arrested at dawn today are "Dr. Ali Al-Akri and Ghassan Dayf, Said Asamahigi and Nurse Dia Ibrahim, Dr. Mahmoud Asgher and Nurse Ibrahim Dimistani".

On the other hand, the consultant Ali Al-Akri, a senior orthopedic surgeon at the Salmaniya Medical Complex, who among other charges was convicted of inciting hatred and calling for the overthrow of Bahrain's rulers, said that today's ruling may be politically motivated. He told Reuters by telephone from Manama "we did not get a fair trial, and we believe that we a card used by the system to negotiate with the opposition."

In an interview to Al-Safir, said Akri said «I was expecting it to be a political trial; this decision is not a decision of the judiciary. We are innocent nothing was proved against us.”

Meanwhile, he explained saying «provisions are not new. We are being targeted since the start of the protests last year, and after provisions there are no steps and legal action we can do, and the legal path ended.

And on the possibility of arrest at any moment, he commented «We are ready for any step, we offered all we can for the country and its people when we treated the wounded last year, and we will continue to offer what we can, we convinced of our innocence, and the world knows we are innocent and that's what makes the Bahraini government think before embarking on such move.
