US presidential candidates debate ahead of election

Islam Times - The polls are very close and President Obama and Mitt Romney squared off one on one in the first of three presidential debates with questions focused on the economy and domestic issues.


Incumbent President Barack Obama and Republican challenger former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney started the 90 minute debate in Denver, Colorado with friendly handshakes, and yet the rest of the night would go into heated debates concerning health care, the economy, jobs and taxes.
 
And yet the country is still facing a major defecit and high unemploymen., Analyst say the President seemed upset during the debate and often did not look at Romney or respond to his attacks.
 
The middle class was a topic continuously discussed during the debate. Both trying to assure the working class if elected they will work for them, while both candidates want to reach out to the undecided voters.
 
After the debate Romney's camp seemed pleased with his performance, yet analyst say Romney flip flopped on issues and more or less pretended he wouldnt raise taxes on the rich.
 
Many Analyst say Romney rose to the occasion, while Obama lacked. The candidates will debate two more times, next will be a town hall meeting in New York.
