19 Oct 2012 11:46

Baghdad (Islam Times) - According to Iraqi sources close to the matter, the U.S. and Turkey held a series of meeting with Lebanese figures close to the Khalk organization, to arrange the deployment of fighters near the Syrian border in a bid to prevent a spill out in the region. In the meeting was discussed Khalk’s role in the resolution of the Syrian conflict, especially since its members had much experience in street fighting and urban warfare...

Sources claimed that at the meeting which took place in Istanbul under the chairmanship of the United States of America embassy in Ankara, Syrian opposition figures such as Bassam Al-Dada and Attorney Eqab Saqr attended as well as Head of Khalk organization Maryam Rajawi.

Sources close to Syrian Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said such scheme will have grave repercussions in Lebanon and Syria, stressing that it was very dangerous to allow such a terror organization to operate from within Lebanon to lead attacks against Syria.

Political advisers to the Syrian free army announced in previous statements that the leadership of the army is considering an offer from the "Khalk’s Mujahideen " to join the Free Syrian Army to face the forces of President Bashar al-Assad, pointing out that the free army agreed they could use the organization’s expertise.

Bassam Aldadh told the Turkish News Agency “Alonado” that "free army’s battalions are currently studying with the army’s leaders the organization's request to assist the resistance movement in Syria. It seems a deal is being brokered.”
