Islam Times - A man has been detained by police after gunfire was heard near the Turkish prime minister's office in Ankara as ministers convened for a cabinet meeting, Turkish media reported.

The sound of three shots was heard outside the primers office on Monday, according to the Turkish state-run broadcaster TRT.

There were no reports of casualties after the man, who entered the building from a side entrance, fired in the air. He was arrested by security staff immediately.

The incident happened shortly after Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and his ministers began their weekly cabinet meeting.

Officials at the prime minister's office said the meeting was still continuing. No further details were available and there was no word on the gunman's motive.

On March 5, one person was injured after a percussion bomb exploded close to the offices of Erdogan.

Reports said explosives were planted in a car park just 30 meters from the prime minister’s building.
