Egypt ready to accept responsibility for security in Africa: FM

Amr made the remarks on Monday during a two-day forum on African security held in Cairo.
"Many challenges are facing our continent today to bring about peace, security, stability, and development, so we need all possible efforts to reach African solutions to these problems, backed by the international community," he said.
"Egypt is keen on hosting this forum yearly, pursuing the reinforcement of the international solidarity with Africa, and finding new UN-AU [African Union] cooperation pivots," he added.
Peace, security and the role of civil society in Africa are expected to be discussed during the 3rd high-level forum.
The forum was organized by the African Union Commission and Cairo Regional Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa in coordination with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
According to reports, at least 200 African and international figures including ex-Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor and AU Commission Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma also attended the meeting.
