Islam Times - Reports show that in its attacks against the Palestinians, Israel uses US-made weapons killing civilians including women & children.

At least SIXTY ONE Gazans were killed and injured by Israeli forces including FIFTEEN children in fresh Israeli aggressions.

According to many international organizations the United States is not competent to be a member of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) due to its violations of human rights worldwide.

Director of the Al Dameer Association for Human Rights Khalil Abu Shamalah told PRESS TV the United States wants to undermine the role of the Human Rights Council.

The Human Rights Council which was created in March 2006 was boycotted by former U.S president George W. Bush's administration over its repeated criticism of Israeli human rights violations against Palestinians.

The Palestinian ministry of health in Gaza said that Israeli forces are using international banned weapons which were supplied by the U.S government during the frequent attacks on the tiny blockaded territory.

Victims of the latest Israeli aggression suffered from amputations in their lower and upper torsos as well as severe burns caused by unknown explosive and corrosive substances.

Some countries have been lobbying UN members to oppose the membership of the US citing the U.S‘s flagrant human rights abuses around the world.
During the Israeli war on Gaza at the turn of 2009 the United States also shipped White Phosphorous shells to the Israeli military which in turn used them to kill and wound many Gazans including women and children.

Experts say the United States presence in the Human Rights Council will only increase human rights violations.

Many here believe that the U.S. government lacks competence to be a member of the Human Rights Council due to its negative human rights records and unabated support to Israeli human rights violations against Palestinians.
