Turkish government implements West policies on Syria: Iran MP
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently called on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down and said that Damascus is experiencing “a holy birth”.

“That holy birth is the coming to power of the will of the people,” the Turkish premier said.

Hossein Sobhani-Nia, the member of the Majlis (parliament) Presiding Board told ICANA on Friday that Ankara would spell its doom by making regional interference.

“The holy birth mentioned by the Turkish prime minister will never be acceptable to Syrians because this is not the Syrian nation who is fighting against the government of Bashar al-Assad. So, this birth will be illegitimate for the Syrian people,” he said.

The Iranian legislator added that the Turkish government is implementing macro policies drawn up by the Western countries on the ongoing crisis in Syria.

Following repeated defeats of armed militants against the Syrian army, the anti-Syria coalition is nearing its collapse and this is why the Turkish premier is making efforts to raise the terrorist groups’ spirits, he pointed out.

Sobhani-Nia warned that reactionary Arab states in the region and Western countries seek to cause tension in Ankara-Damascus relations to achieve their objective and overthrow the government of President al-Assad.

Many people, including a large number of Syrian security forces, have lost their lives over the past months in the unrest that began in Syria in March 2011.

Damascus says certain Western states, especially the United States, and their regional allies are fueling the tensions, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants fighting in the country are foreign nationals.
