Militants kill former Syrian legislator, family in Aleppo
On Sunday, gunmen opened fire on the car transporting Ibrahim Azzouz in the al-Sheikh Said neighborhood of the northwestern city of Aleppo, located about 355 kilometers (220 miles) north of Damascus, killing him on the spot, the official SANA news agency reported.

Azzouz’s wife and his two daughters also lost their lives in the shooting.

A large number of Syrians have been targeted by militant groups over the past months, drawing condemnation from human rights groups.

A new video showed a group of militants killing four men in execution style. The victims, who allegedly had links with Syrian security forces, were executed in the Bab al-Neirab neighborhood of Aleppo.

There are reports that a very large number of the militants in Syria are foreign nationals.

Militant groups have also carried out numerous bomb attacks over the past few months.

On Saturday, an explosive device planted underneath a vehicle detonated near al-Hijaz Square in the capital, Damascus. One person was killed and two others injured in the bombing.

The turmoil began in Syria nearly two years ago. The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside.
