Mohammed Habib al-Miqdad - health concerns

Source have revealed al-Miqdad was having difficulties ingesting food.
The first symptoms of his condition appeared a year ago.

His health severely deteriorated as the authorities refused to give him access to proper medical care in treatment, breaching human rights convention on the treatment of prisoners.

After much debate, the Interior Ministry eventually allowed al-Miqdad to consult with a doctor at the military hospital to be examined.
 
Doctors established his pain was the direct result of severe torture and injuries in his abdomen. He is scheduled to undergo further tests.
