US citizens fear homegrown terrorists more than al-Qaeda: Poll
The study, which was conducted by the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP) and published on April 25, indicates that 51 percent of the US people deem domestic terrorist entities more dangerous.

Twelve percent of the respondents expressed greater fears of al-Qaeda-like groups, while 11 percent could not make up their minds between the two.

Questioned about how closely they pursued media reports on the April 15 bombings that hit the finish line of the Boston Marathon, 36 percent of the respondents said they followed the news very closely.

Forty-four percent responded “almost closely,” while 14 percent said they did not pay close attention to the stories run by the media.

The study drew on responses from 1,125 US adults interviewed by the telephone from April 16 to 18.

The results of the survey indicate US citizens are cynical about the perpetrators behind terrorist attacks in the United States, and despite the West's Islamophobia campaign, mostly see the incidents as rooted inside the country.
