Two killed, six others injured in Lebanon’s Tripoli clashes
The victims were identified as 22-year-old Mohammed Yussef and a 13-year-old boy from the rival neighborhoods of Bab el-Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, AFP reported.

One person was wounded in Jabal Mohsen and five others in Bab el-Tebbaneh, the source said, adding that "Lebanese military forces are in the area and responding to the sources of gunfire."

It was not immediately clear that what sparked the gun battle in the area, where the residents of the two neighborhoods had clashed several times in the past.

While Bab el-Tebbaneh residents support militants fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the inhabitants of neighboring Jabal Mohsen are loyal to Assad.

In February, at least three people were injured in clashes between the supporters and opponents of the Syrian government in the area.
