In March 2013, officials confirmed that widow Safia, daughter, Aisha and two sons of the late Libyan leader -- Hannibal and Mohammed, two of whom are wanted by Interpol, were in Oman.

Foreign Minister Mohammed Abdelaziz told the press at the time, "The Sultanate of Oman has accepted to treat them as political refugees and this is its right. What we are concerned about is that they carry out no political activities against the February 17 revolt that ended with Gaddafi's killing in 2011."

Both Aisha and her brother Hannibal are wanted by Interpol on charges of money laundering, counterfeiting, smuggling of funds, forgery and dissemination.

Libyan journalist revealed happiest Ombah that the family of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi had left the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday. An arrest warrant has been issued against them both.
