Secretary General of al-Wefaq - the Revolution does not belong to one faction
“Al-Wefaq will not engage in non-serious solutions and it is not ready to leave Bahrain under an endless whirlpool of crises. Other than this, it is ready for all possibilities. I hope this is clear to Britain and America”, he stated.

In response to the media campaign and threats against him as well as the opposition, he said, “We do not fear the oppression and arrogance that goes back for decades. This time, we want to break this cycle so nobody feels frightened after this uprising”.

He explained that “Al-Wefaq’s condemnation statements on doubted incidents such as the Riffa explosion are made because we believe and we are always worried that such suspicious incidents might have been planned by non-civilians for certain political purposes”.

Sheikh Salman emphasized that his main concerns were to see all human rights violations stopped as the ongoing state crackdown against protesters was taking a turn for the worse.
He added that while al-Wefaq was supportive of the revolutionary movement the revolution does not belong to one party of faction but rather the people as a whole.
