Nawaz sharif offers to negotiate with extremists
In a televised address to the nation, PM Nawaz Sharif warned however that his government wants to eradicate the terrorism.

“Dialogue is not the only option. I want to end terrorism whether it is through dialogue and reconciliation, or through the use of force,” he insisted.

He blamed the state machinery, security services and the judiciary for failing to crackdown on terrorism.

“The time has come when we should admit that our administrative institutions, our agencies and our system of justice have failed to appear competent in dealing with the challenge of terrorism,” he explained .

“The nation is justified to know why concrete steps were not taken to stop the bloodshed and destruction," he added.

It is important to mention that the Pakistani Taliban group has also recently repeated its offer of dialogue to Nawaz's government.

At the same time, it opposed the execution of several of its members currently on death row in Pakistan. The terrorist group has warned of dangerous repercussions should the prisoners' sentence be carried out. They all face death by hanging.

Soon after receiving the threats, the government suspended all executions.

Regarding Pakistan's relation with India, Nawaz Sharif noted that his government "wants to have good neighborly ties with India."

"The two countries need to sit together to address common issues like poverty and ignorance."

He also sought to soothe recent fears about escalation of tensions with India, by saying that the nation was fully prepared to defend the motherland alongside its valiant armed forces.

The comment came at the time when tensions between the military forces of both India and Pakistan in Kashmir have rapidly deteriorated over the past two weeks.
