Syrian Army Claims Hundreds of Militants in Rural Damascus
Army units imposed siege against militants in Zamalka and Jobar, targeting their sites and fortifications in Zabadane, Darya, Maadamiya, Duma and Domar.
 
According to Al-Alam TV, Syrian troops have stationed at new points of Jobar, especially after cutting the militants' supply in Zamalka, Jobar and Arbin, and trapping the rest of the gunmen in the northern axis of Damascus countryside.
 
Military operations left a number of militants killed in Zamalka of Eastern Ghota while targeting their communities.
 
In the western axis, national heavy artillery hit the gunmen fortifications in Daraya and Ma'damiya. An Army unit also clashed with armed groups in the north-west axis from the Talvita side of Qalamoon in rural Damascus, killing scores of militants.
 
On the airport highway, the scene seems more clear after the Syrian army seized control over Shabaa in East Ghota, while launching an operation against militants' main points in Qasimiya.
 
In Zabadani, Syrian military left killed and injured within the ranks of the terrorist insurgents.
 
The Syrian military continued striking the gunmen strongholds in Rima Hills and Salehia farms near Yabrood, while keeping on the siege against Al-Nasim neighborhood within the town of Nabek.
 
Army units also targeted gunmen assembly points in Duma and destroyed the operations room belonging to the so-called "Banner of Islam" battalion.
 
Military sources confirmed to Russia Today website that 182 opposition gunmen have been killed and 200 others injured during the Syrian army's response to their attack on the Nasiriyah barracks in Damascus north countryside.
 
Another 144 militants of Al-Nusra Front terrorist group have been also killed, along with 43 others injured in areas of Midaa, Adra and Gerba in East Ghota.
 
RT Website reported that 23 militants of non-Syrian nationals have been executed at the hands of the so-called Free Syrian Army -affiliated mercenaries.
 
The Syrian national military launched a wide-scale military operation in May 2013 in the country's main provinces to restore security and release citizens from terrorist threats.
 
Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the Syrian government accuses foreign actors of orchestrating the conflict by supporting the militant opposition groups with arms and money.
