Islam Times - Is an Israeli officer is to be believed, Israel would be on the verge to launch yet another grand scale military operation against Lebanon as to draw Iran in and fail on-going negotiations with Washington.

Battalion commander paratrooper in the Israeli Air Force, Atimar Ben Haim told reporters that in the light of recent developments in the region – essentially Washington’s change of attitude toward Iran – made it imperative for Tel Aviv to take the most dangerous road by seeking war.

Attack has always been Israel preferred defence tactic.

The officer explained that the Defence Ministry has been running an intensive military training program, to ensure that its armed forces are ready at a moment’s notice. Starting Monday such training will be extended to the Air Force and seek to arrange for tactical training strikes.

Haim noted that should Israel decide to strike, Lebanon would be its first target. "The closest scenario is an attack on Lebanon; this plan will be implemented with the back-up of the air force, the most, accurate, and devastating Israeli military power.

He added, "The Hezbollah doubled its strength rocket capacity in recent years, and now owns the large arsenal. Its stockpiles are enough to supply Lebanon and are not compatible with the size of the organization .., Israel cannot tolerate such a threat on its doorstep.”
