Conquering Afghans, U.S also controls Pakistan, says Samiul Haq
The chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and chairman of the Pakistan Defence Council, Maulana Samiul Haq said that following 9/11 all of the government in Pakistan came under US domination.

Talking to Islam Times, the scholar noted that America has continued its drone strikes in Pakistan despite much government opposition, proof that Pakistani officials are powerless to oppose Washington’s will.

He added, “Pakistan government carries out America’s agenda instead of serving the nation’s interests.

To a question about suicide terrorist attacks in Pakistan, he admitted that there was no justification for either drone strikes or suicide attacks.

Speaking on the dialogue process with Pakistani Taliban, he stressed that the government should hold dialogue with the Taliban as there was no other option.

He added that every time peace talks between the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and the government commenced, the United States sought to disrupt it by sending one of its drone.

“Continuation of drone strikes against militants in Tribal areas shows that America is against peace and stability in Pakistan,” Samiul Haq said.

Samiul Haq warned against initiating a military operation against Taliban, stressing that the group would likely react violently and thus risk engulfing the entire nation into a whirlwind of suicide attacks and bloodshed.

The chief of the JUI-S further said that he did not accept the prevailing judicial system and questioned the integrity of courts which could not punish terrorists.

Speaking of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the scholar noted that while high hopes and expectations remained from the incumbent government, officials had so far failed to meet the hopes of its people.
