3 Mar 2014 12:57

Islam Times - A prominent Sunni religious scholar has claimed that under the pretext of setting up mosques across Pakistan, the Saudi government had created and promoted sectarianism in the country.

While addressing an anti-Taliban gathering in Karachi, Chief of Pakistan Sunni Tehrik, Sarwat Ejaz Qadri declared the Saudi regime is providing financial assistance to terrorists in Pakistan.

He said, “These terrorists were against the creation of Pakistan and its constitution and today they want to create unrest and instability in the country.”

The religious personality asked the people of Pakistan to be united against terrorism in their homeland.

He emphasized that the people of Pakistan should continue to stand with their army as it is combating terrorism.

He explained, “If the government was to declare ‘Jihad’ (holy war) against terrorists, all of the people of Pakistan would participate in this war and would defeat terrorists.”

He warned that people should know that terrorists are damaging the image of Pakistan as they force to implement their system based on sectarian violence in the country.

Ejaz Qadri also criticized the government and judiciary for their silence over terrorist activities.
He called for all those involved in terrorist activities to be held accountable and punish according to the law.

It is at the time, when Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan on Sunday has asked the country’s army to suspend its operation in tribal areas in response to interim ceasefire announced by the Pakistani Taliban.
