Former Israel Navy chief calls to break monopoly of Air Force
Marom allegedly questioned Air Force Commander Amir Eshel’statement at a military review when he noted that his troops could put an end to any threat coming from Lebanon in just a few days.

Marom warned that such statement fails to address the ever changing nature of war and regional powers’ increased military capacity, especially the Hezbollah.

He stressed that Israel’s overblown confidence could actually lead to its downfall. He urged the government to consider better distributing its resources in order to prop up all units, not just the Air Force.

Moreover, it appears now that Israel armed forces are not as ready as officials would like the people and the world to believe. IDF reservists have complained that they did not receive proper training over the past three years and therefore would not be able to fight should was break out. Twenty IDF reservist commanders sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday, in which they stressed that over 100 soldiers under their command hadn't undergone any training exercises for three-and-a-half years, and therefore were unprepared for any military conflict the country may face.
