Humanitarian aid reaches Basra via Kuwait

A humanitarian convoy loaded with foodstuffs, medicine and other supplies arrived in Basra to the delight of its people and the relief of its officials.

Fayyad noted that the large quantities of food provided by the State of Kuwait were much appreciated, especially in such a time as Ramadan.

With thousands of IDPs to care for and take care of Basra’s resources have been stretched to their very limits.

Governor Majed Nasraoui ordered some supplies to be transferred to Baghdad and Najaf.
Kuwait has pledged to send additional aid to Iraq.
