Pakistan's army pledges not to rule before three terms, says an official

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Deputy Speaker of Sindh provincial Assembly Ms Shehla Raza disclosed on Tuesday that such agreement had been brokered under National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). No martial law will be imposed till three general elections in the country.

“America, Britain and the UAE have held out their guarantees in the deal,” Shehla Raza confirmed while talking to a private GEOTV.

The PPP leader further noted that her party Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari had travelled to the US to remind them of their past promises.

There are reports that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) are quite determined to safeguard the country current political system.

In this regard, Special Aide to Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Tariq Fatemi is holding meetings with key US officials, while former President and PPP co-chairperson, Asif Ali Zardari will meet with US Vice President, Joe Biden in Virginia on Wednesday.
 
Moreover, Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif will spend the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia, where he will also try to gain the support of Saudi officials.
Nawaz Sharif who reached Jeddah yesterday, already met with Saudi Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz on Monday.
