Sheikh Habib Al-Jamri’s home is rank-sacked
Back in April the pro-democracy leader, Sheikh  Al-Jamri, was transferred to the Military Hospital, Ward No. 43, after suffering ill treatment while in custody.

The torturing of Sheikh Al-Jamri included prolonged hours  of insults and threats of "raping members of his family".

Amnesty International (AI) issued an urgent action on 1 May, calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Sheikh Al Jamri, and other seven prominent popular leaders detained since 22 January 1996.

AI expressed its deep concern about the ill-treatment of Sheikh Al-Jamri and called for a full investigation and those found responsible be brought to justice.

AI said "Shaikh 'Abd al-Amir Mansur al-Jamri has in recent weeks reportedly been subjected to various forms of ill-treatment: solitary confinement, threats of rape against his wife and arrest of his children as well as threats to kill him.

His health is believed to have deteriorated, and there are fears that he may be at risk of further ill-treatment. This ill-treatment is apparently intended to force him to sign a statement accepting full responsibility for all events connected with anti-government protests in Bahrain since December 1994 so that he can be brought to trial".

The Sheikh has been condemned to 15 years imprisonment.
