Turkey has been mediating with Daash to protect Jewish antiquities
An important Christian center, Mosul houses many religious relics and antiquities.

The Turkish journalist has alleged that Ankara received assurances from Daash that none of the Ottoman precious relics or Jewish antiquities will be damaged, raided or pillaged.

The tomb of Salman Shah, an Ottoman leader was also put under such protection in Aleppo.

It appears that Turkey has been more preoccupied with defending its historical interests than actually defeat the terror group and prevent the killing of tens of thousands of innocent civilians.

Interestingly, Israel has since 2003 been working with the US to rescue its historical heritage in Iraq.
