Terrorists are but a tool to oppose the Islamic Awakening

He sternly warned against those world powers which seek to redraw borders and upset the fragile balance which exist in the region.

Moreover, Shamkhani virulently pointed the finger at western nations and their allies in the Middle East, stressing that the emergence of terror groups such as ISIL are but mere fabrications, tools created to oppose and fail the real Islamic Awakening. 

He noted that ISIL and other offshoots of the group had no religious legitimacy.

“Extremism and violence have become tools in the hands of arrogant forces to confront the Islamic Awakening,” he said.

The idea that western powers have planted and enabled terror groups to strive in the Middle East in order to forward their own hegemonic plans is an idea which Iran and many other countries in the Middle East have talked about at length. If many were sceptical at first, the great majority have come to realize that Iran was right all along.

Shamkhani insisted that Muslims should united and stand together to oppose the terror tide and reclaim control over their destiny.
