Islam Times - Preventing Takfiris from committing crimes

Islam Times - Speaking at the international conference “Extremist and Takfiri Groups in View of Muslim Scholars” in Qom – Iran – this Sunday, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, secretary of Iran’s Guardian Council, explained that Daash and its splinter groups came to existence as a Zionist project to undermine Islamic unity and Islam faith.

He described takfirism as the number one threat to the Islamic Ummah.

He noted, “It is Muslims’ duty to confront the Zionists and Takfiris in any way they can.”

Organized by Iran, the conference saw Sunni and Shia clerics and scholars from 83 countries coming together to find ways to defeat terror and radicalism.

The congress is held under supervision of Grand Shia cleric 'Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi' and Grand Ayatollah Sobhani together with Ahlul Bayt World Assembly, World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Management of Hawzah (Seminary School), Dar al-Ulum Institute (Wahhabi Studies) and al Mustafa International University.
